More on “Fuck Facebook”, (with a little Strava thrown in)
John Moltz adds another good point. This happens in my household all the time. Every time a site moves from reverse chronological listing of posts from people you follow–usually by applying an algorithm to “increase engagement” or show you things it thinks you’ll like–people complain. People tried to use third-party Twitter clients (which Twitter reigned in as much as it could), and complained loudly about Facebook.
This same thing recently happened to the cyclist-focused site Strava, with the same chorus of user feedback. So far, it’s been detrimental to my enjoyment of the site. :(
